1938 R69 Gum Inc. Horrors of War complete set of 288. This issue is considered the premier non-sport card set of all time. The set was originally a 240-card set depicting history and atrocities committed during the Spanish Civil War, the Ethiopian War, and the Chinese Japanese War. The set proved so popular that an additional 48 cards were issued depicting the outbreak of WWII and are considerably scarcer than the original 240 cards. The set is full of vivid multi-color images of bloody battles, pillaging troops, and the violation of innocents. The backs contain detailed descriptions of the images on the front of the cards.
