1938 War Admiral "The Widener" Programs and Ticket (3)

1938 War Admiral "The Widener" Programs and Ticket (3)

From just one year after he won racing's 1937 Triple Crown, War Admiral was the centerpiece of these three pieces from The Widener, which was run on March 5, 1938, at Hialeah Park. This lot includes two 4x9" race day programs, as well as a grandstand admission ticket stub from that date. One program has minor paper loss on the cover and the other has pen writing, otherwise the three pieces average EX condition. Son of the famous Man 'o War, Admiral was a force in his own right, winning 21 of his 26 career starts including this one, easily captured by the champion thoroughbred.
