1939 & 1940 Brooklyn Dodger Opening Day Figural Tickets

1939 & 1940 Brooklyn Dodger Opening Day Figural Tickets

One of our favorites in the annals of collecting. Theses brilliant diecut baseball tickets were popularized by grandmaster baseball executive Larry MacPhail in his trend setting days with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Produced on Opening Day and nearly 7” long, these are not only rare but they are among the most beautiful sports tickets ever created. The lot boasts: 1) 1940 Dodger Opening Day in the shape of a catcher’s mitt and baseball. Full ticket with both figural section (even rarer!) is stamped void but is o/w EX. 2) 1939 Brooklyn Dodgers Opening Day in the shape of a baseball. Two creases o/w NRMT. 3) Only one we have seen of this 1949 Knot Hole Club membership card in the shape of a baseball. The boys name is written in o/w VG.
