This first day cover from 1939 celebrates "A Century of Baseball." Postmarked from Cooperstown on the first day the National Baseball Hall of Fame opened its doors to the public (June 12, 1939), it is signed by five baseball immortals, four of whom were original inductees and present at that 1939 opening. Babe Ruth (8/10 ink), Ty Cobb (8/10 ink), Honus Wagner (7.5/10 pencil), Clark Griffith (8/10 ink) and Connie Mack (8/10 ink) are here. The envelope itself has been mailed and is in Very Good condition. Comes with a JSA LOA.
