1939 Louisville Slugger Poster with Joe DiMaggio and rookie Ted Williams in Original Envelope
Fantastic Louisville Slugger poster from circa 1939 boasts a gallery of the game's most fearsome hitters and paid endorsers of the famous bat company's lumber -- including the duo that turned the 1941 season into a 3-ring sideshow of their own, Joe DiMaggio and Ted Williams, whose b&w headshots against a blue backdrop join those of fellow future HOFers Hank Greenberg Mel Ott, Johnny Mize, Joe Medwick, Ival Goodman, Joe Gordon, Charlie Gehringer and Pepper Martin (as well as other distinguished batsmen Charlie Keller and Jewish big leaguer Morrie Arnovich), all above facsimile signatures. The 12 x 49" poster reads "Louisville Slugger Bats" in black letters down the middle. The poster hasn't seemed to age a day, as it carries no visible flaws save for very slight paper separation from a few light fold marks to fit into the original envelope (also included). Otherwise an EX-MT gem. Poster was sent to a service station in Berlin, Pennsylvania, which reads "Here is your National Baseball Week (March 30-April 6) Window Poster".
