1940's and 50's Brooklyn Dodgers Signed Player's Contracts (7)
This lot of seven official Uniform Player's Contracts for the National League are all for the Brooklyn Dodgers Baseball Club. They span several players and seasons as follows: Ralph T. Branca, 1948; Jack Kay Banta, 1949; Carl Anthony Furillo, 1951; Carl D. Erskine, 1955; Edward Jack Roebuck, 1955; Karl Benjamin Spooner, 1955; and Edward J. Roebuck, 1956. The 1955 contracts are of special significance as this was the year the team won the World Series, beating the Yankees. It was the only World Series the team won while located in Brooklyn. The average condition of the contracts is EX, and all of them are signed inside by the players and Club officials. The signatures average 8/10.
