1940 St. Louis Browns Proclamation on Night Baseball
Incredible letter on St. Louis Browns letterhead from Donald Barnes (President) to Walter Briggs of the Tigers regarding night baseball. The fascinating content addresses a dispute between the National and American Leagues regarding the number of night games to be played in a season. Letter is signed in clear black ink, Donald Barnes, and dated December 14, 1940. "Recieved" stamp is in upper right indicating that it was obtained by Briggs on December 23, 1940. Attached to the letter is a four page summary of the dispute dated December 13, 1940. This is an excellent piece of baseball history. PSA letter of authenticity for the Barnes signature.
