1940 Superman Near Set Collection Of (46) PSA & GAI
Not for the “mild-mannered,” this “Man of Steel” 1940 Gum Inc. issue of Superman trading cards is now 65 years old! This collection of 46 is from the “Golden Age” of non-sports cards. This set is one of the most valuable and popular of all pre-war non-sports cards sets. Cards include 13, which have been graded and encapsulated by GAI: GAI 8 NM-MT # 20. GAI 6 EX-MT #6 GAI 5.5 EX+ #29 GAI 5 EX #s 1, 7, 10, 15 GAI 4.5 VG-EX+ #s 11, 33 GAI 4 VG-EX #s 3, 18, 28. GAI 3.5 VG+ #9 GAI 3 VG #23. Graded and encapsulated by PSA are: PSA 6 EX-MT #47 PSA 5 EX #s 34, 40. PSA 4 VG-EX #25. PSA 2 GD #16. Also included are #’s 2,8,12,13,17,19,24,26,30,31,32,35,38,41,44,45,48,49,52,53,56,57,59,60,62,70, and 72. With 30% VG-EX, 30% VG and the remaining 40% lesser mostly do to some stock loss or tape on the reverse.
