1941 "War Relic" Horseshoe Attributed to Narragansett Special Victory

1941 "War Relic" Horseshoe Attributed to Narragansett Special Victory

Nice 1941 race worn horseshoe from War Relic - the last major son of the great Man o' War - attributed to a victory in the Narragansett Special. Note that we use the word "attributed" as the attached tag identifying it as being from War Relic looks to have been originally written as being from the Massachusetts Handicap, which has been crossed out with the Narragansett race written above it (Relic won both of those events in '41). Shoe shows light but expected use. Bottom of the shoe has the horse's name written in black marker. The thoroughbred finished in the money in 15 of his 20 career starts, including a victory over Whirlaway at the Narragansett Special.
