1946 Jackie Robinson Breaks the Color Line Original Negatives (4)

1946 Jackie Robinson Breaks the Color Line Original Negatives (4)

Four historically critical negatives of the Jackie Robinson on April 18, 1946 when he broke the true color line with the Montreal Royals of the International League. He is shown here in his first game ever with the Royals, not to coincidentally in a game at Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City. He is shown: 1) Approaching the plate in his very first at bat in one of the most important moments in history. 2) Readying to bat in the dugout with bat in hand. 3) Preparing to bat behind the plate in the on-deck area in a very famous image. 4) Working out in the infield before the game to sharpen those on field skills. An amazing group of negatives that are unlike anything you will ever see again. Photos are by Peretella, 4x5” and come with two original wire slips.
