1946 Montreal Royals Championship Game Ball & More
Great items from Jackie's rookie year in the white game, with the Dodgers' Montreal Royals farm club, when he captured the International League batting title. 1) Hardy game ball is from the 1946 "Little World Series" between the Royals and the Louisville Colonels. This official International League Ball shows great game use and has "Little World Series, 1946, Montreal Royals & Louisville Colonels" written in black ink in both English and French. 2) 4 press passes from the 1946 season belonging to a Montreal sportswriter. Each press pass measures approximately 2 1/2" X 3 1/2" and they are NRMT. 3) Sports page of "Le Canada" Newspaper from October 5, 1946 with a French headline that says, "Le Royal, Champion du Monde" (The Royals, World Champions) and features a team picture of the Royals and a photo of Robinson in his Royals cap. The newspaper is intact and preserved in a plastic protective case. EX+ All of these items came from a Montreal sportswriter who covered the Robinson and the Royals in 1946.
