1946 Nellie Fox Signed Handwritten Letter
Prior to his rookie season, while still in the military, Fox sat down to pen this two-page letter to his wife-to-be, Joanne Statler, during a break in his training at Fort McClennan, Ala. Dated January 23, 1946, it reads in part, “Dearest Darling-Just a few lines to say hello and let you know that I am still around,” and, “Got to go out with the gang one night.” Closed with, “Nellie…Be Good”. Written entirely in black ink (9/10) on pages that are EX+-EX-MT, and comes complete with its original mailing envelope.
