1947 Jackie Robinson Autograph

1947 Jackie Robinson Autograph

Large bold fountain pen autograph on 8”x10” album page grades a strong 8/10. Also signed by Dodger teammate Ed Stevens in the same ink. The unusual confluence of these two signatures on the same vintage album page, in the same pen, indicated that this is most certainly an autograph from Robinson’s rookie season. Moreover, the fact that Stevens played in only five games early in 1947 before being moved to Pittsburgh leads us to believe this is one of the earliest autograph specimens ever collected from Robinson as a Dodger. Thin paper stock is overall VG-EX with some minor tears and staining to edges.
