1947 Jackie Robinson Day Ticket
Since 1997, April 15 has been celebrated throughout baseball in honor of Jackie Robinson's having broken the game's color barrier on that day in 1947. On September 12 that season, Jackie won the first-ever Rookie of the Year Award that now bears his name, but perhaps his greatest honor came 11 days later, when Ebbets Field held a fan-organized "Jackie Robinson Day" in which the barrier-breaker received such gifts as a brand-new Cadillac, a giant television set, a portable radio, a gold pen-and-pencil set, cutlery, watch, silverware, an electric broiler. Here's a stub from that special day, capped by a 6-1 victory over the rival New York Giants. It is encapsulated as authentic by PSA.
