1949 All-Star Game Ticket Stub PSA EX-MT 6(mk) (Highest Graded)
Offered is a special collectible - the PSA HIGHEST GRADED EX-MINT 6(mk) ticket stub to the July 12, 1949, All-Star Game between the host National League and the visiting American League at Brooklyn's Ebbets Field. The game was won by the American League, 11-7, before 32,577 fans. Detroit's Virgil Trucks took the win, in relief, for the Junior Circuit and the New York Yankees' Vic Raschi had the save. The Dodgers' Don Newcombe took the loss, in relief. The St. Louis Cardinals' Stan Musial and the Pittsburgh Pirates' Ralph Kiner homered for the National League. For the American League, the Philadelphia Athletics' Eddie Joost had a two-run single, the Yankees Joe DiMaggio had a 2-RBI single, scoring his brother, Dominick (Red Sox) and Bob Dillinger, of the St. Louis Browns. Dom DiMaggio also had an RBI single. The Dodgers' Jackie Robinson, the National League MVP in '49, batted .342 that season to lead the NL, and he also led the National League in steals (37). In addition, Robinson scored 122 runs and knocked in 124. Robinson had a fine All-Star Game in '49, going 1-for 4, with a double, a walk, and three runs scored. In addition, second baseman Robinson was part of an all-Brooklyn infield double play, from Robinson to Pee Wee Reese at shortstop to Gil Hodges at first base. The presented ticket stub measures approx. 1.5x2". The ticket stub is for a Lower Stand $2.00 reserved seat. The stub has been encapsulated and PSA graded EX-MT 6(MK), the HIGHEST GRADED.
