1949 Sid Abel All Star Game Worn Sweater
Sid Abel, the third member of the Detroit Red Wings “Production Line”, one of the greatest scoring lines in the history of hockey, wore this amazing red wool NHL All Star sweater during his 1949 MVP season. Knit “NHL 1949” shield on the front with 5 white felt stars sewn above. Blue & white stripe design spans the shoulders, down each sleeve. Verso is the number “12” in blue on white felt numbers with 5 white stars above. Tagging inside front left tail is “McNiece’s.” Light use, nice wear and in top display condition. Originally obtained directly from Sid Abel. LOA from Abel with photo documentation showing Abel holding the jersey.
