1950's Robby the Robot in Original Box
Exceptional version of this battery operated toy apes the 1956 film Forbidden Planet. Robot stands 13" tall in gleaming hard-shell tin with boxy red feet and arms in silver, red and black. Has the familiar whirling circles on the sides of his head, his "face" in a menagerie of mechanical charging pistons that light up like a Xmas tree when you turn him on. He is all original except and NRMT for the clear plastic dome, which has been replaced (looks perfect). The original box is magnificent with image of Robby the "Mechanized Robot." Box has a crease and some minor scuffing o/w excellent. By T.N. This is classic post War Japan toymaking.
