1950s Ted Williams Prophylactics
Ted Williams influenced many a young man to want to follow in his footsteps into the Major Leagues. Advertisers were keenly aware of this and would stop short at nothing to try and cash in on this phenomenon. We have a prime example of that here. From a company called Champ Prophylactics out of New York City comes this curious item of condoms featuring Ted on the cover. Four packets of 3 condoms each for a total of a dozen. The use of his image was totally unauthorized which of course did not prevent production. Athletes in other sports had their images co-opted as well. Packets are unopened (thankfully).
