<p>First-generation "Type I" acetate chrome negative in full color (4x5"). Shot in March of 1951 while at Spring Training. Mantle stands posed at the position of shortstop where he started it all. This is simply one of the most famous images of Mickey ever taken. Youthful Mantle, is on the cusp of greatness, only 19 years old and oozing with talent. about to play in 91 games as a rookie for the 1951 Yankees. And no, Mantle is not playing shortstop as a left-hander. It's the negative showing it all backwards. Comes with original paper tag with "Mickey Mantle, March 1951 with New York Yankees at Phoenix, Arizona by Klein & Elkins" typed on paper sleeve holding negative.
