1951 Seattle Rainiers Baseball with Rogers Hornsby
Decades before the Mariners came into existence, Seattle's professional baseball team was the minor league Rainiers, named after the mountain in Washington state. The 1951 team - which won the Pacific Coast League championship - was managed by Hall of Fame second baseman Rogers Hornsby, who used the title to land his final major league manager's job with Cincinnati the next season. This official Wilson PCL ball features 24 signatures including Hornsby's. The autographs average 7/10 with Hornsby's being one of the strongest. The ball shows some minor yellowing and is in VG-EX condition. As a side note, the Seattle Mariners' triple-A team in Tacoma is now known as the Rainiers.
