1953 New York Yankees World Champions Team-Signed Baseball w/Mantle (26 Signatures)

Official American League (Harridge) ball signed in blue ink by the following twenty-six members of the 1953 World Champion New York Yankees: Mantle, Berra, Ford, Rizzuto (sweet spot), Mize, Martin, Reynolds (sweet spot), Raschi, Collins, Sain, Houk, Miller, McDonald, Lopat, Bauer, Silvera, Bollweg, Kuzava, Woodling, Scarborough, Carey, Blackwell, Gorman, Noren, Renna, and McDougald. Signatures range from 5/10 to 8/10, averaging 7/10. This ball originates from the personal collection of backup catcher Charlie Silvera, as indicated by the number “29” written in blue ink on a side panel. (When players wanted team-signed balls for their personal collection, or to give away to friends, it was customary for the clubhouse man to write their respective uniform number on the ball, that way he could keep track of which balls belonged to which players.) A few additional ink marks appear on the ball, but they do not affect any of the signatures. 1953 marked the last of the Yankees’ record five consecutive World Championship seasons. The ball is lightly toned and remains in Excellent condition. Full LOA from PSA.
