1955 Buddy Holly Signed High School Yearbook

1955 Buddy Holly Signed High School Yearbook

The early rock ‘n’ roll pioneer who popularized such hits as That’ll Be the Day, Oh Boy! and Peggy Sue was a senior at Lubbock Senior High School when he signed this perfectly preserved copy of the yearbook “Westerner” for a fellow classmate. A small photo of him as vice president of the Vocational Industrial Club is signed simply “Buddy” on page 196. At the back of the volume is a lengthier inscription, reading “Ava, Lots of luck in everything you do. I know you’ll be a great success. Buddy Holley.” His early tragic death on an airplane carrying fellow stars Richie Valens and the Big Bopper has made autographs exceptionally difficult to come by, and this duplicate signing in a high school yearbook only adds more and more appeal. All ink is perfect 10/10, unchanged since the teenaged Holly held this book in his hands.
