1955 Sal Maglie Signed New York Giants Player's Contract

By 1955 when Salvatore Maglie signed his player’s contract, baseball player’s pay was beginning to soar as this contract states that he would receive $35,000 for the season, an astronomical sum back in 1950’s dollars. Sal Maglie has signed the document, assigning him to the Cleveland Indians, and dated it February 15, 1955 in blue ball point pen and the MT quality signature is crystal clear earning a 9/10. The document is signed by a variety of league dignitaries, including American League president William Harridge, Warren Giles for the National League, and Charles Feeney and Horace Stoneham for the Giants, all are high quality signatures and rate in the 8/10 range.
