<span style="font-family: Verdana;"></span>In 1955, the National League Champion Brooklyn Dodgers squared off against the American League Champion New York Yankees in the World Series. In a hard-fought, seven-game battle, Dem Bums outlasted the Yankees to win their very first championship. The Dodgers enjoyed steady bats throughout the series from mainstays like Duke Snider (.320), Carl Furillo (.296), Pee Wee Reese (.329), Gil Hodges (.292), and Jim Gilliam (.292). On the mound, Johnny Podres proved to be the Dodgers ace as he hurled a pair of complete game victories against the Yanks including the decisive Game 7.This lot features a quartet of four 1955 World Series ticket stubs from Games 3, 4, 5 and 6. Each of the torn tickets measure 2.25” wide by 4” tall and have all been either authenticated or graded by PSA, and ultimately encapsulated. The Game 3 stub, which shows the game was played at Ebbets Field, was verified Authentic by PSA. The Dodgers won the game, 8-3. The Game 4 stub, which also shows Ebbets Field as the venue, was graded Excellent 5 by PSA. The Dodgers won the game, 8-5. The Game 5 stub, showing Ebbets Field as the site, was graded Excellent-Mint 6 by PSA and the Dodgers also won that game, 8-5. And finally, the Game 6 stub, which shows the change in venue to Yankee Stadium, was graded Very Good 3 by PSA. The Yankees evened the series at three games apiece with a 5-1 decision. Each of the finished encapsulations measure 4.25” wide by 7.25” tall.
