1956 Brooklyn Dodgers Tour of Japan Pennant
Historic pennant from the Brooklyn Dodgers tour of Japan from October 19 to November 16, 1956 is only the second one we have ever seen. It says "Welcome Dodgers" and "Tokyo 1956" along with a "B" for Brooklyn surrounded by a green wreath. Japanese writing adorns the end of this rare pennant which was given only to Dodgers players. The games in Japan were Jackie Robinson's last games in a Dodgers uniform and the Dodgers finished with a 14-4-1 record against Japanese teams. Included is a photograph of manager Walt Alston in Japan with the same pennant. The pennant is gold and blue with red and navy lettering sewn on. NRMT.
