1956 Jim Gilliam Brooklyn Dodgers Game Worn Jersey
Jim Gilliam was a Negro League infielder who later played with the franchise that broke the color barrier in 1947 by signing Jackie Robinson - the Brooklyn Dodgers. This gray, button-down road jersey with royal blue lettering/piping and #19 on the back is 100% original and has his name sewn into the collar on a swatch of white felt, next to the size 42 tag. There is a Set 1 1956 flag tag sewn inside the front tail. Shows very nice use with one repaired hole on the front tail. Gilliam was named 1953 National League Rookie of the Year and later became one of baseball's first African-American coaches. LOA.
