1957-58 Ab McDonald Rochester Americans AHL Game Worn Jersey
One year before making the big jump to the NHL, left winger Ab McDonald wore this sensational sweater with the 1957-58 Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. The game-worn jersey features a lace neck, red, white and blue coloring with with stars on the top and number 6 on the left sleeve as well as on the back, which shows signs of heavy use. In fact, the jersey shows incredible wear, with 13 team repairs, minor scattered holes, with the largest one being behind the "I" on the front nameplate. In his second year with the team, McDonald led the Amercks with 30 goals and 63 points that winter before joining the Montreal Canadiens and becoming part of three consecutive Stanley Cup championship teams. He was then traded to the Chicago Blackhawks prior to the 1960-61 campaign and helped THAT franchise to the title. The five-time NHL All-Star continued to skate professionally for another 13 years after that.
