1957 Topps #11 Roosevelt Brown Original Photographss Used to Make Card (PSA Type I)
Pair of circa 1950s photographs of New York Giants offensive lineman Roosevelt "Rosey" Brown. 1) Black and white 8x10" shot features a posed Brown staring intently off-camera in a three-point stance. Editors marks in blue pen are on the left border and top right corner. Back has "R. Brown Giants" in black ink and Cal-Pictures stamp. 2) Brown is posed "approaching the camera" in this posed action shot; the poor quality of the grass and cars in the background create something of an odd setting for a great image (both are in-filled with color backgrounds on the cards). Horizontal crease spanning the entire image crosses Brown's thighs. Back has "R. Brown, Giants" written in ink, and "ACTION" just below. Both photos used for 1957 Topps Football #11 card of the Hall of Famer, and the lot comes with an original card. The photo in stance was also used for his 1956 Topps #41 rookie, as well as his 1956, '60, and '61 Jay Publishing cards. Originating from the Topps Archive, both photos are Type I and encapsulated by PSA.
