1957 Topps Football Wax Pack GAI 6
You are a winner with whatever pops up in this virgin 5 cent wax pack of split-image 1957 Topps pro football cards. Identically sized photos side by side in horizontal format feature a helmets-off head shot in red background and action pose in yellow background. Fabulous. And the wrapper with a faceguard-less guy about to cradle a ball is catchy, too. Fleer and Bowman beat Topps to the ball in offering pro football bubble gum packs, but Topps flexed its muscle in this vintage set. If you dare open this relic, look for rookies of Unitas, Hornung, and Starr amongst other HOF greats.
