1959 Cassius Clay Golden Gloves Pass
Colorful orange press pass is from the Intercity Golden Gloves competition held on March 25, 1959 at Chicago Stadium. Here, a youngster from Louisville named Cassius Clay defeated Tony Madigan to win the light heavyweight Gold Gloves championship. This was Muhammad Ali's first fight on the national stage and the win helped launch his Olympic and professional boxing careers. Measures 3x5" and indicates the date and location of the tournament.
