1959 Dwight D. Eisenhower Letter Signed as President to "Mr. Calumet" Ben Jones (Jones Family LOA)

This is an autographed letter from Dwight Eisenhower on White House stationery dated May 11, 1959, to Benjamin "Ben" Jones, with superior Kentucky Derby content. Jones, from Calumet Farms, is a Hall of Famer and the only trainer to win the Kentucky Derby six times, including victories by two U.S. Triple Crown winners, Citation and Whirlaway. This was sent the year after he was inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame. The letter was received soon after the Kentucky Derby, and reads "On the day of the Kentucky Derby some love roses were delivered to Mrs. Eisenhower...your desire to have us participate, in some way, in the famous 'Run for the Roses.'" The autograph is in fountain pen and is quite large and bold, a 10/10. The letter measures approximately 6.5x10" and is NRMT. Comes with an LOA from the nephew of Benjamin and Elizabeth Jones.
