1959 Kansas City Athletics Team-Signed Baseball with Roger Maris (PSA)
The year before he joined the Yankees and vaulted to stardom, Roger Maris spent his second season with the Kansas City Athletics. The slugger's name appears on this 1959 A's team-signed ball, along with Terry, Sain, Daley, Lopez, Herzog and more - 30 in all, rating an average of 7.5/10. There are no labels on the ball, which grades 6.5/10. PSA LOA. Maris batted .273 with 16 home runs and 72 RBI, showing no indication whatsoever of the power numbers he would produce just two years later - 61 homers and 149 RBI, both tops in the league, and of course the home run total standing as the gold standard for decades.
