1959 Team Canada World Championships Game Worn Sweater
Netminder Marv Edwards was a last-minute addition to the roster of the Belleville McFarlands in 1959 as the team traveled to Europe for the World Championships. Marv’s wool Team Canada sweater was made by Albion knit, in the vintage tie-neck style with the original string. Felt letters spell out “Canada” across the front with a large blue maple leaf. The number “21” sits on the back with “Belleville McFarlands”, again in felt. Edwards would bring home the gold medal in 1959 and go on to enjoy a long career that included 61 NHL games. A historic gold medal championship uniform in unbelievable condition.
