1960 Bill Mazeroski Signed World Series Game 7 Home Run Ticket Stub PSA Authentic Auto 9

Offered is a Bill Mazeroski signed ticket stub from Game 7 of the 1960 World Series on Oct. 13th at Pittsburgh's Forbes Field when the Hall of Famer hit the most memorable World Series home run in history, a walk off bottom of the ninth inning blast that enabled the Pittsburgh Pirates to win the World Series over the New York Yankees. "Maz" played his entire Major League career (1956-72) with the Pittsburgh Pirates. The second baseman was known for his superb fielding. An 8-time Gold Glove winner and a 7-time All-Star, "The Glove" holds the career MLB record for most double plays by a second baseman, with 1,706. He led the National League in double plays for eight seasons, and he led the NL in assists a record nine times. In Game 7 of the '60 World Series, Yankee reliever Bill Terry was on the mound in the bottom of the ninth inning for the Yankees in a 9-9 game. On a 1-0 count, Terry threw a high fastball that Mazeroski drove over the head of Yankee left fielder Yogi Berra and over the left-center field wall. Mazeroski was between first and second base as he saw the ball go over the wall. He raised his arms, cap in hand, over his head in triumph, and that iconic moment is immortalized in a statue of Mazeroski outside of the Pirates current home ballpark, PNC Field. Right after Mazeroski's World Series home run, a fourteen-year-old boy retrieved the ball from Schenley Park, outside the left field wall, from among some cherry trees, and Mazeroski signed the ball, which was soon lost in a neighborhood baseball game. The signed ticket has Mazeroski's signature and inscription, as Maz used a black marker to neatly and boldly sign and inscribe, "Bill Mazeroski 10-13-60." The ticket stub, for a $7.70 reserved seat, measures 2.25x4.25". The stub has been encapsulated and PSA/DNA certified as AUTHENTIC AUTO.
