1960 Mickey Mantle Power of Attorney Signed Document

Mickey Mantle Power of Attorney Document (8x13"). In this document, dated in July of 1960, but no exact date specified, Mantle assigned a limited power of attorney, for business matters relating to Mantle's bowling alley in Dallas, Texas. to Frank Scott. The document is notarized. Frank Scott is sometimes known as baseball's first player agent. Actually, Christy Walsh was baseball's first player agent, as he guided Babe Ruth's finances, but Walsh did not refer to himself as an agent. Frank Scott took up the torch in the 1950s, getting payment for various New York Yankee players for speaking engagements and endorsements.
