1960s MAHL Pittsburgh Knights Game Worn Jersey

1960s MAHL Pittsburgh Knights Game Worn Jersey

Classic circa 1960s game worn jersey from the Pittsburgh Knights of the Mid Atlantic Hockey League. Hockey traditionalists prefer the term "sweater" instead of "jersey," and this heavy-weight example shows why. Black top has the typical Steel City color theme of yellow and white lettering and trim, Pittsburgh is sewn diagonally across the front in tackle twill, number 17 is sewn on back and sleeves, and Olde English "K" is above each shoulder number. Remnant of a size 46 tag remains in collar, neck drawstring is present. Pilling is evident throughout, there's a small hole on the front, some fraying is evident to the numbers, and it has a great vintage look and feel. The Pittsburgh Penguins joined the NHL in 1967 and after using powder blue as a base color in their early years, they changed to their present color scheme, the ancestor of which can be seen in this very sweater.
