In a year when NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain also averaged an astounding 50.4 points per game, the 1961-62 season will be remembered as the year he changed the game forever by scoring 100 points in a single game against the New York Knicks. This near-complete set of Fleer basketball cards from that storied season includes PSA 8 NM-MT # 10 Cousey, 52 Guerin. PSA 7 NM # 9 Costello. PSA 6 EX-MT #’s 3 Baylor, 6, 8 Chamberlain, 31, 38 Russell, 47 Chamberlain IA. As is often case with this set, several of the cards suffer from centering issues. The condition breakdown of the ungraded stars is as follows, # 36 Robertson EX-MT oc, 43 West EX+, 44 Wilkens EX-MT, 46 Baylor NM oc left to right, 61 Robertson NM oc, 62 Russell EX-MT oc left to right, 66 West oc left to right. The set is complete except for the following cards, 2,11,12,17,22,27,28,29,53.
