1961-63 Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris Bobble Heads

1961-63 Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris Bobble Heads

Brilliant pair of New York Yankees bobble heads featuring the fabled M&M Boys, Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris. These date from roughly the 1961-63 time period, and while we can't conclusively say it was the cause, these would be a great keepsake commemorating the legendary home run chase between the pair in 1961, ending with Maris stroking 61 round-trippers to topple Babe Ruth's previous mark of 60. Each player is depicted with bat in hand, standing roughly 7.5 inches on a base that includes what appear to be cut autographs of each. Small chip is present on the Maris base, EX condition overall. The Mantle bobble has a crack to the back of the head and some separation of the head from the body with the spring visible. While Maris completed the mission by reaching the new record, Mantle's run was short-circuited due to a late season injury; The Mick accumulated an impressive 54 in his own right.
