1961-64 Buzz Nutter Game Worn Pittsburgh Steelers Jersey (Steelers COA)

He was the starting center on two Baltimore Colts NFL Championship teams and the man who snapped the football to Johnny Unitas in The Greatest Game Ever Played. In fact, when Alan Ameche scored the winning touchdown in that famed 1958 title game, it was Buzz Nutter who retrieved the game ball from a fan in the end zone who was trying to abscond with the relic. This heavy, road white durene jersey with gold and white sleeves is accented by gold and white sleeve stripes and a black collar. Buzz’s identifying “51” appears in black on gold on the front and back, and in black alone on the sleeves, all sewn-on in tackle twill. The front buttons and back flap of the crotch piece were neatly removed to accommodate Buzz’s preference. On the inside of the front crotch piece are the “Rawlings” manufacturer’s tag, “52” size swatch, the washing instructions label, and remnants of a fourth tag. This jersey exhibits tremendous game wear, including at least SEVEN TEAM REPAIRS and comes with a letter of provenance from the Pittsburgh Steelers. A killer display piece!

Jersey comes directly from the Steelers archive and come with an LOA from the Steelers. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Steelers Archives items will be donated to the Chuck Noll Foundation for Brain Injury Research.
