1961 Boston Red Sox Corporate Franchise License
All clubs were required to obtain a Corporation Franchise License and this is an actual license issued in 1961 to the Boston Red Sox. The license card measures 3 x 7 1/2" and is in VG+ condition. The paper quality is EX with clean edges and no tears of any kind but there are (2) rust stains in the shape of a paper clip on the front of the certificate. The lot also includes (2) letters, one from Joe Cummisky on Red Sox letterhead addressed to Edward Doherty of the Washington Senators and the other from Joseph Burke written to Richard O'Connell. The content of both letters refers to the requirements of the Corporation Franchise License.
