1961 Duke Ellington & His Famous Orchestra Poster
Swingin' poster promoting Duke Ellington's "only Maine appearance" on July 28, 1961 at Old Orchard Beach with his famous orchestra. This 14x22.5" card is in EX+ condition and prominently features Duke's head with cartoon caricatures of sax players, with the names of his hit songs printed in red. Ellington - a prominent figure in the history of jazz - was a composer and pianist as well as a bandleader. He was 62 at the time of this gig.
