1961 Johhny Blanchard Game Used Bat (35")
The biggest bat of the Yankees' five-game dusting of the Reds in the '61 World Series did not belong to Mantle, Maris, Berra, Skowron or Howard, but rather third-string catcher Johnny Blanchard, who hit .400 with 2 homers. Such pyrotechnics however were not unusual for Blanchard, who hit .455 in the '60 Series and 21 homers in just 93 games during the '61 season. Giving credit where it was due, Blanchard autographed his H&B B220 with, "My 1961 Game Bat. Johnny Blanchard", in black sharpie. Signature a strong 9/10. Good use and bat is streaked with pine tar and assorted dings. A piece is missing from back of barrel but o/w retains a nice even stain of brown and has been kept in peak condition. Purchased from Blanchard.
