1961 Maury Wills Game-Used All Star Bat (34")

1961 Maury Wills Game-Used All Star Bat (34")

Custom bat used by Wills in both 1961 All-Star Games is a rare and one-of-a-kind piece of memorabilia from the man who put the steal back in the game, pilfering 104 the following season to become the first player to exceed a hundred since the 19th Century. Swinging this light-caramel Adirondack "194 B" in those Midsummer Classics, he went 2 for 7 combined, leaving a few dings in the barrel, which might have gotten more use had the second game, played in Fenway after the National League won at Candlestick, 5-4, not been rained out with the score tied 1-1. Both "WILLS" and "1961 All Stars" are branded on the bat head. Wood striations have darkened wonderfully. Bat was obtained from a former Major League player who got it from Maury.
