Great photo of the participants in 1961's epic home run chase - Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris - signed by Mantle. Black and white shot measures 8x5.75" and depicts the smiling teammates back-to-back, in batting stances with the Yankee Stadium stands providing the backdrop. Mantle has signed across the shoulder and back of his uniform in 7/10 blue ballpoint ink. Back has stamp from United Press International, affixed caption indicating that the photo was taken by Bill Sauro with a 7/28/61 date, and some red paper residue, likely from scrapbook or mounting removal. Encapsulated and certified by PSA as Type III Authentic photo.
