He has captured in ink some of America’s greatest sports moments. Bill Gallo became a cartoonist at the New York Daily News in 1960. The next season he “drew” his readers into the pennant “pressures” faced by LA Dodgers slugger Frank Howard as well as depicting a somewhat “relaxing” and smiling Roger Maris in this vintage drawing. Bill Gallo’s original heavy black ink artwork also has a newspaper editor’s sizing notes in blue and black pencil, along with some border smudges. Measuring 18 x 21” (approx), this piece of well-kept Bill Gallo is ready for framing and hanging on any sports fan’s wall.
