1962-63 Bob Ferguson Pittsburgh Steelers Game Worn Jersey
Fullback Bob Ferguson was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers and San Diego Chargers in the first round of the NFL Draft and AFL Draft, respectively, but chose to sign with the Steelers. Ferguson was a standout at Ohio State and was named an All-American in each of his final two years there. He also won the Maxwell Award in 1961 as the Nation's leading college player. Sadly his pro career was derailed by a head injury and he ultimately only ended up playing two years in the league. This white jersey was game-worn by Ferguson during his time in Pittsburgh in 1962-63. There is a Rawlings size 48 tag, a Pittsburgh Sports Shop, and wash tags inside the tail. The jersey shows heavy use with grass stains, loose threads, and four team repairs. It also has a crotch piece with all original buttons. Ferguson was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1996. All jerseys come directly from the Steelers archive and come with an LOA from the Steelers. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Steelers Archives items will be donated to the Chuck Noll Foundation for Brain Injury Research.
