1962-63 Mickey Mantle Autographed Game Used Bat (35.5")
The finest piece of Mickey Mantle memorabilia we have had the duty of offering in a while. Signed on the barrel in perfect black sharpie, this beautiful Hillerich & Bradsby model F108 was ordered by Mantle (along with 5 others of equal length) in 1962 to be sent October 2, according to H&B records. This was the day after (2) 35” F108’s were shipped to Mantle as World Series bats. The records state that this is the only time that Mantle ordered these particular bats throughout the course of his career. The next order of bats from Mickey was not until March of 1963. This would make those (6) 35.5” F108’s World Series bats, which means that this bat may very well have been used by Mantle during the 1962 World Series. Excellent use with most of the ball marks & stitch marks on the right side of the bat, indicating that Mantle was batting left-handed. His #7 written in faded black marker on the knob and the butt end of barrel. 2 LOAs, one from Al Salerno, former AL Umpire, who was given the bat by Mickey Mantle, the other from Orlando Scarafle. Salerno then gave the bat to Orlando Scarafle, who had Mantle sign it at a Whitey Ford Fantasy Camp in Ft. Lauderdale. As far as game used equipment goes it simply does not get much better.
