1962 Gordie Howe 500th Goal Program and Ticket
This 11" x 8.5", 32-page program is in EX-MT condition except for some markings on the roster page. The EX-MT stub is marked with the date and seat location. Included in this set is the original New York Times article detailing this historic event. 15,326 people witnessed the great Gordie Howe score his 500th career goal as the New York Rangers defeated the visiting Detroit Red Wings, 3-2 on March 14, 1962. Known as "Mr. Hockey," Gordie Howe's legendary career was defined by his offensive wizardry, toughness and unsurpassed career longevity. Inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1972, Howe was a four-time Stanley Cup champion, six-time Hart Trophy winner, and six-time Art Ross Trophy winner.
