1962 New York Mets Team Signed Ball

1962 New York Mets Team Signed Ball

Not only was the 1962 squad who signed this orb the first New York Mets team, it was also one of the worst teams in baseball history, ending their season with a humiliating .250 winning percentage. But this is also the ball club that built a legend around being the worst (’62), and, later, with better players, the miraculous (1969), and the best (1986). This ’62 roster was also a team that drew in retired Yankee manager Casey Stengel to lead, and played at the legendary Polo Grounds, of New York Giants fame. The mystique is here, autographed by twenty-seven Mets in black ballpoint along the hide of this Official National League (Giles) baseball, with the likes of Gil Hodges, manager Casey Stengel, Richie Ashburn and Elio Chacon. One of the nicest '62 signed Met balls existent. Ball is EX, and comes with LOA, with its 27 signatures ranging up to 8/10.
