1963 New York Mets First Win Baseball Inscribed by Gil Hodges

1963 New York Mets First Win Baseball Inscribed by Gil Hodges

Official National League (Giles) baseball was used in the Mets first win of the 1963 season. This win came after 8 consecutive loses. The ball is inscribed by Gil Hodges in faded black ink. Some portions are faded too far to read. What can be seen is, "This baseball caught by ______ April 19, 1963. ______ was foul ball hit by Frank Bolling of the Milwaukee Braves at the Polo Grounds. Mets won first game of season 5 to 4 after losing 8 straight." Ball shows nice game use.
